Back Street's Back... ALRIGHT!

Okay, so the Backstreet Boys had a good comeback, but mine will be better. BLOG COMEBACK '09! Although don't call it a comeback... I've been here for years... And... I'm done with the music references for now. So in 6 days I'll be heading back on a plane back to the city of Barlad to see my kiddos again. Very excited. But I thought I'd give an update on my life so my faithful blog readers out there will feel connected to me on a very personal, online level.

I'm still teaching first grade at David Gourley Elementary. Well, I will be in August. I am currently teaching summer school at the same place but I am teaching a room full of 4th and 5th grade boys. They are hilarious and I've had a blast but I'll be glad to get back to my first graders again.

While teaching summer school, I've been attending summer school classes as well. I got into the Elementary Ed. Master's program through Utah State and have been cramming classes into every spare minute of my day to get it done. I think I put more effort into one of these classes than I did into most of my undergrad work. Apparently you can't BS as easily this time around! I'm learning a lot and I'm excited to teach one I know all of these things.

I live in Sugarhouse with some girls in a house. We love the house and are happy nothing has broken or dumped poisonous gasses into our house yet. Its beautiful and we get to stay in our awesome ward, so we're happy girls.

I have travelled a ton already this year. In February I went with my Mom for a week to Hawaii. It was incredible. We sat on the beach and read about 10 books between the two of us. I went whale watching (by myself and made friends with a nice Boat Captain named Brian) and we both went on a helicopter ride over the island. It was so fun to spend time with my mom and we had a great time just lounging around and relaxing. It was a great trip.

In March I got T-boned by a truck and my Mazda didn't make it. I bought myself a new Mitsubishi Outlander and I love her just as much.

In April, Laura and Tricia and I went on a road trip to San Diego and got on the Carnival Elation for a quick cruise to Mexico. It rained and rained and rained and we were the only 3 sober people on the high seas, but we still had a great time. Especially when I realized that my good friend Ali was a worker on the boat! We loved getting away and the cruise was definitely a great experience. The highlight was seeing Tricia judge a hairy chest contest.

Other than that, life is just rollin along as it tends to do. Busy as always. I'll be sure to be checking in from Romania and Paris to give everyone the Biz of what's going on. I'm excited to get there!!
